Bovine Actin, gamma-enteric smooth muscle (ACTG2) ELISA Kit | ACTG2 elisa kit
Bovine Actin, gamma-enteric smooth muscle (ACTG2) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: ACTG2 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-ACTG2 antibody and an ACTG2-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with ACTG2-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the ACTG2 concentration since ACTG2 from samples and ACTG2-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-ACTG2 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by ACTG2 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind ACTG2-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The ACTG2 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility and in the maintenance of the cytoskeleton. Three types of actins, alpha, beta and gamma, have been identified in vertebrates. Alpha actins are found in muscle tissues and are a major constituent of the contractile apparatus. The beta and gamma actins co-exist in most cell types as components of the cytoskeleton and as mediators of internal cell motility. This gene encodes actin gamma 2; a smooth muscle actin found in enteric tissues. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. Based on similarity to peptide cleavage of related actins, the mature protein of this gene is formed by removal of two N-terminal peptides.[provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
Uniprot Description
ACTG2: Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility and are ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells. Polymerization of globular actin (G-actin) leads to a structural filament (F-actin) in the form of a two-stranded helix. Each actin can bind to 4 others. Belongs to the actin family.

Product Notes
The Bovine ACTG2 actg2 (Catalog #AAA7215539) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7215539 ELISA Kit recognizes Bovine ACTG2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Actin, gamma-enteric smooth muscle (ACTG2), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
