Tlr6 blocking peptide

Mouse TLR6 Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide

Synonyms
TLR6; Mouse TLR6 Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide; Toll-like receptor 6; CD286; Tlr6; Tlr6 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of human Mouse TLR6. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
806
Cellular Location
Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Cytoplasmic vesicle, phagosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Note: Upon complex formation with CD36 and TLR4, internalized through dynamin-dependent endocytosis
Tissue Location
Detected in thymus, spleen, ovary and lung.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for Tlr6 blocking peptide
Participates in the innate immune response to Gram- positive bacteria and fungi. Specifically recognizes diacylated and, to a lesser extent, triacylated lipopeptides. Acts via MYD88 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Cooperates with TLR2 for the cellular activation. In complex with TLR4, promotes sterile inflammation in monocytes/macrophages in response to oxidized low- density lipoprotein (oxLDL) or amyloid-beta 42. In this context, the initial signal is provided by oxLDL- or amyloid-beta 42- binding to CD36. This event induces the formation of a heterodimer of TLR4 and TLR6, which is rapidly internalized and triggers inflammatory response, leading to the NF-kappa-B-dependent production of CXCL1, CXCL2 and CCL9 cytokines, via MYD88 signaling pathway, and CCL5 cytokine, via TICAM1 signaling pathway, as well as IL1B secretion.

Uniprot Description

TLR6: Participates in the innate immune response to Gram- positive bacteria and fungi. Acts via MYD88 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Recognizes mycoplasmal macrophage-activating lipopeptide-2kD (MALP-2), soluble tuberculosis factor (STF), phenol-soluble modulin (PSM) and B.burgdorferi outer surface protein A lipoprotein (OspA-L) cooperatively with TLR2. Belongs to the Toll-like receptor family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, misc.

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; integral to plasma membrane; lipid raft

Molecular Function: diacylated lipoprotein binding; protein heterodimerization activity; transmembrane receptor activity

Biological Process: defense response to bacterium; detection of diacylated bacterial lipoprotein; inflammatory response; interleukin-1 beta secretion; microglial cell activation; nitric oxide metabolic process; positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; positive regulation of interleukin-6 biosynthetic process; positive regulation of JNK activity; response to bacterial lipoprotein; T-helper 1 type immune response; toll-like receptor signaling pathway

Product Notes

The Tlr6 tlr6 (Catalog #AAA9221310) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TLR6, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
