STOML2 blocking peptide

STOML2 Blocking Peptide (Center)

Gene Names
STOML2; SLP-2; HSPC108
Synonyms
STOML2; STOML2 Blocking Peptide (Center); Stomatin-like protein 2; mitochondrial; SLP-2; EPB72-like protein 2; Paraprotein target 7; Paratarg-7; SLP2; STOML2 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence is selected from aa 176-189 of HUMAN STOML2
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
356
Cellular Location
Mitochondrion inner membrane. Mitochondrion intermembrane space. Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein Membrane raft; Peripheral membrane protein. Note: Behaves as an integral membrane protein of the mitochondrion despite the absence of a detectable transmembrane domain. A minor pool is associated with the plasma membrane and is enriched at the immunological synapse in activated T-cells. Also associates with the actin cytoskeleton and membrane rafts in activated T-cells
Tissue Location
Ubiquitously expressed at low levels. Expressed in lymphoid tissues (at protein level)
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for STOML2 blocking peptide
Mitochondrial protein that probably regulates the biogenesis and the activity of mitochondria. Stimulates cardiolipin biosynthesis, binds cardiolipin-enriched membranes where it recruits and stabilizes some proteins including prohibitin and may therefore act in the organization of functional microdomains in mitochondrial membranes. Through regulation of the mitochondrial function may play a role into several biological processes including cell migration, cell proliferation, T-cell activation, calcium homeostasis and cellular response to stress. May play a role in calcium homeostasis through negative regulation of calcium efflux from mitochondria. Required for mitochondrial hyperfusion a pro-survival cellular response to stress which results in increased ATP production by mitochondria. May also regulate the organization of functional domains at the plasma membrane and play a role in T-cell activation through association with the T-cell receptor signaling complex and its regulation.

Product Notes

The STOML2 stoml2 (Catalog #AAA9228926) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "STOML2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
