PI4K2A (PI4K II) Blocking Peptide | PI4K2A blocking peptide

PI4K2A (PI4K II) Antibody (N-term) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
PI4K2A; PI4KII; PIK42A
Synonyms
PI4K2A (PI4K II); PI4K2A (PI4K II) Antibody (N-term) Blocking peptide; Phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase type 2-alpha; Phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase type II-alpha; PI4K2A; PI4K2A blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of human PI4K II. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
479
Cellular Location
Golgi apparatus, trans-Golgi network membrane; Lipid- anchor. Membrane raft. Cell projection, dendrite. Cell junction, synapse, presynaptic cell membrane. Cell junction, synapse, synaptosome Mitochondrion. Endosome Cytoplasmic vesicle. Membrane; Lipid-anchor. Cell membrane Note: Localized in neuronal cell body. Transported from neuronal cell body to neuron projections in a BLOC-1- and AP-3-complexes- dependent manner. Enriched in neurite tips and neuron projections in a BLOC-1- and AP-3-complexes-dependent manner (By similarity) Found in subdomains of the plasma membrane termed non-caveolar membrane rafts.
Tissue Location
Widely expressed. Highest expression is observed in kidney, brain, heart, skeletal muscle, and placenta and lowest expression is observed in colon, thymus, and small intestine.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for PI4K2A blocking peptide
Membrane-bound phosphatidylinositol-4 kinase (PI4- kinase) that catalyzes the phosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol (PI) to phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PI4P), a lipid that plays important roles in endocytosis, Golgi function, protein sorting and membrane trafficking and is required for prolonged survival of neurons. Besides, phosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol (PI) to phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PI4P) is the first committed step in the generation of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2), a precursor of the second messenger inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (InsP3).

NCBI Description

Phosphatidylinositolpolyphosphates (PtdInsPs) are centrally involved in many biologic processes, ranging from cell growth and organization of the actin cytoskeleton to endo- and exocytosis. PI4KII phosphorylates PtdIns at the D-4 position, an essential step in the biosynthesis of PtdInsPs (Barylko et al., 2001 [PubMed 11244087]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

PI4K2A: Together with PI4K2B and the type III PI4Ks (PIK4CA and PIK4CB) it contributes to the overall PI4-kinase activity of the cell. The phosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol (PI) to PI4P is the first committed step in the generation of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2), a precursor of the second messenger inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (InsP3). Contributes to the production of InsP3 in stimulated cells. Belongs to the PI3/PI4-kinase family. Type II PI4K subfamily.

Product Notes

The PI4K2A pi4k2a (Catalog #AAA9227473) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PI4K2A (PI4K II), Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
