MOS blocking peptide

MOS Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
MOS; MSV
Synonyms
MOS; MOS Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide; Proto-oncogene serine/threonine-protein kinase mos; Oocyte maturation factor mos; Proto-oncogene c-Mos; MOS blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of human MOS. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
346
Tissue Location
Expressed specifically in testis during spermatogenesis
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.

NCBI Description

MOS is a serine/threonine kinase that activates the MAP kinase cascade through direct phosphorylation of the MAP kinase activator MEK (MAP2K1; MIM 176872) (Prasad et al., 2008 [PubMed 18246541]).[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2009]

Uniprot Description

MOS: a proto-oncogenic serine/threonine kinase of the MOS family. Expressed predominantly in germ cells. Crucial for normal oocyte meiosis and female fertility in mice.

Protein type: EC 2.7.11.1; Protein kinase, Other; Oncoprotein; Kinase, protein; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); Other group; MOS family

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q11

Molecular Function: MAP kinase kinase kinase activity; protein binding; protein serine/threonine kinase activity

Biological Process: activation of MAPK activity; activation of MAPKK activity; establishment and/or maintenance of chromatin architecture; establishment of meiotic spindle orientation; meiotic spindle organization and biogenesis; protein amino acid autophosphorylation

Product Notes

The MOS mos (Catalog #AAA9227510) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MOS, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
