MMP19 blocking peptide

MMP19 Antibody (N-term) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
MMP19; CODA; MMP18; RASI-1
Synonyms
MMP19; MMP19 Antibody (N-term) Blocking peptide; Matrix metalloproteinase-19; MMP-19; 3424-; Matrix metalloproteinase RASI; Matrix metalloproteinase-18; MMP-18; MMP18; RASI; MMP19 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of MMP19. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
508
Cellular Location
Secreted, extracellular space, extracellular matrix
Tissue Location
Expressed in mammary gland, placenta, lung, pancreas, ovary, small intestine, spleen, thymus, prostate, testis colon, heart and blood vessel walls. Not detected in brain and peripheral blood leukocytes. Also expressed in the synovial fluid of normal and rheumatoid patients
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for MMP19 blocking peptide

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of a family of proteins that are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. The encoded protein is secreted as an inactive proprotein, which is activated upon cleavage by extracellular proteases. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants for this gene. Uniprot Description

MMP19: Endopeptidase that degrades various components of the extracellular matrix, such as aggrecan and cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (comp), during development, haemostasis and pathological conditions (arthritic disease). May also play a role in neovascularization or angiogenesis. Hydrolyzes collagen type IV, laminin, nidogen, nascin-C isoform, fibronectin, and type I gelatin. May play a role in pathological processes participating in rheumatoid arthritis (RA)-associated joint tissue destruction. Autoantigen anti-MMP19 are frequent in RA patients. Belongs to the peptidase M10A family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The MMP19 mmp19 (Catalog #AAA9220170) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MMP19, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
