KAT5 / Tip60/HTATIP Blocking Peptide | KAT5 blocking peptide

KAT5 / Tip60/HTATIP Antibody (N-term) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
KAT5; TIP; ESA1; PLIP; TIP60; cPLA2; HTATIP; ZC2HC5; HTATIP1
Synonyms
KAT5 / Tip60/HTATIP; KAT5 / Tip60/HTATIP Antibody (N-term) Blocking peptide; Histone acetyltransferase KAT5; 60 kDa Tat-interactive protein; Tip60; Histone acetyltransferase HTATIP; HIV-1 Tat interactive protein; Lysine acetyltransferase 5; cPLA(2)-interacting protein; KAT5; HTATIP; TIP60; KAT5 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of human HTATIP. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
513
Cellular Location
Nucleus. Nucleus, nucleolus. Cytoplasm, perinuclear region. Note: Upon stimulation with EDN1, it is exported from the nucleus to the perinuclear region and UV irradiation induces translocation into punctuate subnuclear structures named nuclear bodies
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for KAT5 blocking peptide
Catalytic subunit of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex which is involved in transcriptional activation of select genes principally by acetylation of nucleosomal histones H4 and H2A. This modification may both alter nucleosome-DNA interactions and promote interaction of the modified histones with other proteins which positively regulate transcription. This complex may be required for the activation of transcriptional programs associated with oncogene and proto-oncogene mediated growth induction, tumor suppressor mediated growth arrest and replicative senescence, apoptosis, and DNA repair. NuA4 may also play a direct role in DNA repair when recruited to sites of DNA damage. Directly acetylates and activates ATM. Component of a SWR1-like complex that specifically mediates the removal of histone H2A.Z/H2AFZ from the nucleosome. In case of HIV-1 infection, interaction with the viral Tat protein leads to KAT5 polyubiquitination and targets it to degradation. Relieves NR1D2-mediated inhibition of APOC3 expression by acetylating NR1D2.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the MYST family of histone acetyl transferases (HATs) and was originally isolated as an HIV-1 TAT-interactive protein. HATs play important roles in regulating chromatin remodeling, transcription and other nuclear processes by acetylating histone and nonhistone proteins. This protein is a histone acetylase that has a role in DNA repair and apoptosis and is thought to play an important role in signal transduction. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Tip60: a histone acetyl transferase (HAT) of the MYST family. Originally isolated as an HIV-1 TAT-interactive protein. Plays an important role in regulating chromatin remodeling, transcription and other nuclear processes by acetylating nuclear proteins. Plays a role in DNA repair and apoptosis. Three splice variants have been described.

Product Notes

The KAT5 kat5 (Catalog #AAA9217902) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KAT5 / Tip60/HTATIP, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
