CPE blocking peptide

CPE Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
CPE; CPH
Synonyms
CPE; CPE Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide; Carboxypeptidase E; Carboxypeptidase H; CPH; Enkephalin convertase; Prohormone-processing carboxypeptidase; CPE blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of human CPE. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
476
Cellular Location
Isoform 1: Cytoplasmic vesicle, secretory vesicle membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Secreted. Note: Associated with the secretory granule membrane through direct binding to lipid rafts in intragranular conditions.
Tissue Location
Isoform 2, but not isoform 1, is overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (at protein level), as well as in other tumors, including pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the M14 family of metallocarboxypeptidases. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature peptidase. This peripheral membrane protein cleaves C-terminal amino acid residues and is involved in the biosynthesis of peptide hormones and neurotransmitters, including insulin. This protein may also function independently of its peptidase activity, as a neurotrophic factor that promotes neuronal survival, and as a sorting receptor that binds to regulated secretory pathway proteins, including prohormones. Mutations in this gene are implicated in type 2 diabetes. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The CPE cpe (Catalog #AAA9227131) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CPE, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
