Related Product Information for UFO recombinant protein
Axl, also known as Ufo and Ark, is a widely expressed 140kDa glycoprotein in the TAM receptor tyrosine kinase family. Axl binds the vitamin K-dependent protein Gas6 which triggers tyrosine autophosphorylation of the Axl cytoplasmic domain. Axl functions in dampening the immune response, regulating cytokine secretion, clearing apoptotic cells and debris, and maintaining cell survival. Axl is highly expressed in solid cancers and promotes in vivo tumorigenesis and tumor cell invasiveness. It also functions as a cellular entry receptor for Gas6-opsonized lentiviruses. Axl contributes to cell survival, migration, invasion, metastasis and chemosensitivity justify further investigation of Axl as novel therapeutic targets in cancer. The receptor tyrosine kinase AXL is thought to play a role in metastasis. The soluble AXL receptor as a therapeutic candidate agent for treatment of metastatic ovarian cancer. GAS6/AXL targeting as an effective strategy for inhibition of metastatic tumor progression in vivo.

Uniprot Description

AXL: a receptor tyrosine kinase that may function as a signal transducer between specific cell types of mesodermal origin. Interacts with SKP1. Overexpression in tissue culture causes oncogenic transformation. Overexpressed in several cancers including thyroid, ovarian, gastric, ER+ breast cancer and acute myeloid leukemia, where it is associated with poor prognosis. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The UFO axl (Catalog #AAA2569339) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Ala26-Pro4 40. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tyrosine-protein kinase receptor UFO/AXL oncogene/UFO, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
