Related Product Information for beta-Amylase assay kit
Intended Uses: This kit can measure beta-Amylase activity in plant tissue samples.

Principle of the Assay: The reducing sugar reacts with 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid under heating conditions to produce a brown-red substance. beta-amylase was inactivated by the property of amylase not to be heat-resistant, and then the enzyme activi ty of total amylase and alpha-amylase is determined. So the activity of beta-amyla se can be calculated indirectly.

Background/Introduction: beta-Amylase is a non-metallic exo-amylase, which decomposes polyg lucan at the alpha-1,4-glycosidic bond, releasing beta-maltose and trace beta-limit de xtrin. beta-Amylase is mainly distributed in higher plants and is also found in some microorganisms. In abiotic stress, the enzyme plays a key role in starch degrad ation, early seed germination and cell protection.

Product Notes

The beta-Amylase (Catalog #AAA2567673) is an Assay Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "beta-Amylase, Assay Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
