SR1 is a plant homologue of the human general/alternative splicing factor SF2/ASF.

Function: General splicing factor. Can promote splice site selection in vitro presumably by antagonizing the effects of the A1 heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein. May have an essential function during early plant development. Ref.8
Subunit structure: Component of the spliceosome. Interacts with SNRNP35, RS2Z33, SR34, CYP59, CYP63 and CYP95. The binding to CYP63 is phosphorylation-dependent (Ref.12). Ref.11 Ref.12 Ref.15 Ref.17
Subcellular location: Nucleus speckle. Nucleus › nucleoplasm Ref.13 Ref.14 Ref.16.
