Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for ARRB2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any ARRB2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ARRB2 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ARRB2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Uniprot Description

ARRB2: a member of the arrestin/beta-arrestin protein family. These proteins participate in agonist-mediated desensitization of G-protein-coupled receptors. Acts as a cofactor in the beta-adrenergic receptor kinase (BARK) mediated desensitization of beta-adrenergic receptors. Expressed at high levels in the CNS and peripheral blood leukocytes.

Product Notes

The Rat ARRB2 arrb2 (Catalog #AAA917674) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA917674 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat ARRB2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "arrestin, beta 2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
