NCBI Description

This gene encodes a water channel protein located in the kidney collecting tubule. It belongs to the MIP/aquaporin family, some members of which are clustered together on chromosome 12q13. Mutations in this gene have been linked to autosomal dominant and recessive forms of nephrogenic diabetes insipidus. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]

Uniprot Description

AQP2: Forms a water-specific channel that provides the plasma membranes of renal collecting duct with high permeability to water, thereby permitting water to move in the direction of an osmotic gradient. Expressed in renal collecting tubules. Belongs to the MIP/aquaporin (TC 1.A.8) family.

Product Notes

The Human AQP 2 aqp2 (Catalog #AAA722831) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA722831 ELISA Kit recognizes Human AQP 2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aquaporin 2, Collecting Duct, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
