Related Product Information for CA-125 antigen
Background: CA-125 (cancer antigen 125, carcinoma antigen 125, or carbohydrate antigen 125) also known as mucin 16 or MUC16 is encoded by the MUC16 gene in humans. MUC16 is a member of the mucin family of glycoproteins. CA-125 is most consistently elevated in epithelial ovarian cancer, but can be expressed in a number of gynecologic (endometrial, fallopian tube) and non-gynecologic (pancreatic, breast, colon and lung) cancers. It may also be elevated in cases of benign abnormalities such as endometriosis

Product Notes

The CA-125 (Catalog #AAA190961) is an Antigen and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. Non-Hazardous. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CA-125 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CA-125, Antigen" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
