Related Product Information for Glycolysis II antibody kit
Background: Glycolysis is the metabolic process by which glucose is converted to pyruvate in a sequence of enzymatic steps. Phosphofructokinase (PFK) catalyzes the phosphorylation of fructose-6-phosphate in glycolysis. The bifunctional 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-bisphosphatase (PFK-2/FBPase or PFKFB) catalyzes the synthesis and degradation of fructose 2,6-bisphosphate and regulates its steady-state level. Four different PFKFB isoforms (PFKFB1, PFKFB2, PFKFB3, and PFKFB4) have been identified. Aldolase (fructose bisphosphate aldolase) is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of fructose 1, 6-bisphosphate to 3-phosphoglyceraldehyde. Phosphoglycerate mutase (PGAM1) catalyzes the conversion of 3-phosphoglycerate to 2-phosphoglycerate during glycolysis. Enolase is an important glycolytic enzyme involved in the interconversion of 2-phosphoglycerate to phosphoenolpyruvate. Mammalian enolase exists as three subunits: enolase-1 (alpha-enolase), enolase-2 (gamma-enolase) and enolase-3 (beta-enolase) that can form both homo- and heterodimers. Pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase (PDHK) phosphorylates PDH and inactivates it, whereas dephosphorylation of PDH is carried out by pyruvate dehydrogenase phosphatase to generate the active form.

Product Notes

The Glycolysis II (Catalog #AAA2550098) is an Antibody Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Glycolysis II can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Glycolysis II for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glycolysis II, Antibody Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
