Rat Amylase Alpha 2, Pancreatic ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: AMYalpha2 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-AMYalpha2 antibody and an AMYalpha2-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with AMYalpha2-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the AMYalpha2 concentration since AMYalpha2 from samples and AMYalpha2-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-AMYalpha2 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by AMYalpha2 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind AMYalpha2-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The AMYalpha2 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Amylases are secreted proteins that hydrolyze 1,4-alpha-glucoside bonds in oligosaccharides and polysaccharides, and thus catalyze the first step in digestion of dietary starch and glycogen. The human genome has a cluster of several amylase genes that are expressed at high levels in either salivary gland or pancreas. This gene encodes an amylase isoenzyme produced by the pancreas. Product Notes
The Rat AMY2 amy2a (Catalog #AAA750781) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA750781 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat AMY2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Amylase Alpha 2, Pancreatic , ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
