Related Product Information for ADAM9 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to ADAM9. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a HRP-conjugated antibody preparation specific for ADAM9 to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB (3,3',5,5' tetramethyl-benzidine) substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain ADAM9, HRP-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of ADAM9 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. The protein encoded by this gene interacts with SH3 domain-containing proteins, binds mitotic arrest deficient 2 beta protein, and is also involved in TPA-induced ectodomain shedding of membrane-anchored heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]

Uniprot Description

Function: Probable zinc protease. May mediate cell-cell or cell-matrix interactions. Isoform 2 displays alpha-secretase activity for APP.1 PublicationManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.3

Cofactor: Binds 1 zinc ion per subunit Inferred.

Product Notes

The Human ADAM9 adam9 (Catalog #AAA703902) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA703902 ELISA Kit recognizes Human ADAM9. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ADAM metallopeptidase domain 9 (meltrin gamma), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
