Related Product Information for ADAM9 elisa kit
Principle of the assay: ADAM9 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-ADAM9 antibody and an ADAM9-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with ADAM9-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the ADAM9 concentration since ADAM9 from samples and ADAM9-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-ADAM9 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by ADAM9 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind ADAM9-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The ADAM9 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. The protein encoded by this gene interacts with SH3 domain-containing proteins, binds mitotic arrest deficient 2 beta protein, and is also involved in TPA-induced ectodomain shedding of membrane-anchored heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]

Uniprot Description

ADAM9: Probable zinc protease. May mediate cell-cell or cell- matrix interactions. Isoform 2 displays alpha-secretase activity for APP. Widely expressed. Expressed in chondrocytes. Isoform 2 is highly expressed in liver and heart. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Mouse ADAM9 adam9 (Catalog #AAA728187) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA728187 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse ADAM9. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "A Disintegrin And Metalloprotease 9, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
