Activity Data (Figure. The binding activity of ACVA with ACVR1.Activin A (ACVA) is a dimer composed of two identical called activin betaA. Activin betaA and betaB are identical to the two beta subunits of inhibin. Activin enhances FSH biosynthesis and secretion, and participates in the regulation of the menstrual cycle. Many other functions have been found to be exerted by activin, including roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, metabolism, homeostasis, immune response, wound repair, and endocrine function. Besides, Activin A Receptor Type I (ACVR1) has been identified as an interactor of ACVA, thus a binding ELISA assay was conducted to detect the interaction of recombinant human ACVA and recombinant human ACVR1. Briefly, ACVA were diluted serially in PBS, with 0.01% BSA (pH 7.4). Duplicate samples of 100muL were then transferred to ACVR1-coated microtiter wells and incubated for 2h at 37 degree C. Wells were washed with PBST and incubated for 1h with anti-ACVA pAb, then aspirated and washed 3 times. After incubation with HRP labelled secondary antibody, wells were aspirated and washed 3 times. With the addition of substrate solution, wells were incubated 15-25 minutes at 37 degree C. Finally, add 50uL stop solution to the wells and read at 450nm immediately. The binding activity of ACVA and ACVR1 was shown in Figure 1, and this effect was in a dose dependent manner.)

Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate a subunit of the dimeric activin and inhibin protein complexes. These complexes activate and inhibit, respectively, follicle stimulating hormone secretion from the pituitary gland. The encoded protein also plays a role in eye, tooth and testis development. Elevated expression of this gene may be associated with cancer cachexia in human patients. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2016]

Product Notes

The ACVA inhba (Catalog #AAA2105043) is an Active Protein and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Gly311~Ser426. AAA Biotech's Activin A (ACVA) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Cell Culture, Activity Assays. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACVA inhba for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Activin A (ACVA), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
