Principle of the assay: AATK ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-AATK antibody and an AATK-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with AATK-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the AATK concentration since AATK from samples and AATK-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-AATK antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by AATK from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind AATK-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The AATK concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

Lmr1: a protein kinase kinase of the Lmr family. Predominantly expressed in the nervous system and is involved in neurite extension and apoptosis of cerebellar granule cells. Contains a tyrosine kinase domain at the N-terminal end and a proline-rich domain at the C-terminal end. May be necessary for the induction of growth arrest and/or apoptosis of myeloid cells induced by cytokine withdrawal, such as IL3, and during G-CSF-induced terminal differentiation of myeloblasts to granulocytes. Four alternatively spliced isoforms have been reported.
