Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for MTTP elisa kit
Description: This Human Microsomal triglyceride transfer protein large subunit (MTTP) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MTTP in samples. An antibody specific for MTTP has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any MTTP present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MTTP is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MTTP bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: MTTP encodes the large subunit of the heterodimeric microsomal triglyceride transfer protein. Protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) completes the heterodimeric microsomal triglyceride transfer protein, which has been shown to play a central role in lipoprotein assembly. Mutations in MTTP can cause abetalipoproteinemia.

NCBI Description

MTP encodes the large subunit of the heterodimeric microsomal triglyceride transfer protein. Protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) completes the heterodimeric microsomal triglyceride transfer protein, which has been shown to play a central role in lipoprotein assembly. Mutations in MTP can cause abetalipoproteinemia. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

MTTP: Catalyzes the transport of triglyceride, cholesteryl ester, and phospholipid between phospholipid surfaces. Required for the secretion of plasma lipoproteins that contain apolipoprotein B. Defects in MTTP are the cause of abetalipoproteinemia (ABL). ABL is an autosomal recessive disorder of lipoprotein metabolism. Affected individuals produce virtually no circulating apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins (chylomicrons, VLDL, LDL, lipoprotein(A)). Malabsorption of the antioxidant vitamin E occurs, leading to spinocerebellar and retinal degeneration.

Product Notes

The Human MTTP mttp (Catalog #AAA9715135) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9715135 ELISA Kit recognizes Human MTTP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Microsomal Triglyceride Transfer Protein Large Subunit (MTTP), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
