Human Trinucleotide Repeat-Containing Gene 6C Protein (TNRC6C) ELISA Kit
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Background: By sequencing clones obtained from a fetal brain cDNA library, Nagase et al. (2000) cloned TNRC6C, which they designated KIAA1582. The deduced 1,448-amino acid protein contains an RNA recognition motif and a ubiquitin-associated (UBA) domain. RT-PCR ELISA detected moderate expression in heart, kidney, testis, ovary, adult and fetal brain, and all specific adult brain regions examined. Low expression was detected in skeletal muscle, and no expression was detected in lung, liver, pancreas, spleen, and fetal liver. Schneider et al. (2006) stated that the TNRC6C protein contains a glycine/tryptophan (GW)-rich N-terminal domain, followed by a UBA domain, a glutamine-rich region, and a C-terminal RNA recognition motif.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Function: Plays a role in RNA-mediated gene silencing by micro-RNAs (miRNAs). Required for miRNA-dependent translational repression of complementary mRNAs by argonaute family proteins. As scaffoldng protein associates with argonaute proteins bound to partially complementary mRNAs and simultaneously can recruit CCR4-NOT and PAN deadenylase complexes. Ref.8 Ref.11 Ref.12 Ref.13
Subunit structure: Interacts with one or more of the argonaute family proteins AGO1, AGO2, AGO3 and AGO4. Interacts with PABPC1 and EIF4G1. Interacts with CNOT1; the interaction is direct and mediates the association with the CCR4-NOT complex. Interacts with PAN3; the interaction mediates the association with the PAN complex. Ref.7 Ref.8 Ref.9 Ref.11 Ref.12 Ref.13
Domain: The silencing domain, also known as C-terminal effector domain (CED), can act in autonomous repression, including both translational inhibition and mRNA degradation.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the GW182 family.Contains 1 RRM (RNA recognition motif) domain.Contains 1 UBA domain.
Sequence caution: The sequence BAB13408.2 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation. The sequence BAB71179.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation.

Product Notes
The Human TNRC6C tnrc6c (Catalog #AAA9713843) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9713843 ELISA Kit recognizes Human TNRC6C. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Trinucleotide Repeat-Containing Gene 6C Protein (TNRC6C), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
