ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000
Immunogen
A synthesized peptide derived from human JPH3.
Conjugation
Unconjugated
Similarity
The MORN (membrane occupation and recognition nexus) repeats contribute to the plasma membrane binding, possibly by interacting with phospholipids. Belongs to the junctophilin family.
Tissue Specificity
Specifically expressed in brain.
Function
Junctophilins contribute to the formation of junctional membrane complexes (JMCs) which link the plasma membrane with the endoplasmic or sarcoplasmic reticulum in excitable cells. Provides a structural foundation for functional cross-talk between the cell surface and intracellular calcium release channels. JPH3 is brain-specific and appears to have an active role in certain neurons involved in motor coordination and memory.
Note
Localized predominantly on the plasma membrane. The transmembrane domain is anchored in endoplasmic reticulum membrane, while the N-terminal part associates with the plasma membrane (By similarity).
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months from date of receipt.

NCBI Description

Junctional complexes between the plasma membrane and endoplasmic/sarcoplasmic reticulum are a common feature of all excitable cell types and mediate cross talk between cell surface and intracellular ion channels. The protein encoded by this gene is a component of junctional complexes and is composed of a C-terminal hydrophobic segment spanning the endoplasmic/sarcoplasmic reticulum membrane and a remaining cytoplasmic domain that shows specific affinity for the plasma membrane. CAG/CTG repeat expansions at the Huntington's disease (HD)-like 2 locus have been identified in this gene, which is a member of the junctophilin gene family. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2012]

Uniprot Description

JPH3: Junctophilins contribute to the formation of junctional membrane complexes (JMCs) which link the plasma membrane with the endoplasmic or sarcoplasmic reticulum in excitable cells. Provides a structural foundation for functional cross-talk between the cell surface and intracellular calcium release channels. JPH3 is brain- specific and appears to have an active role in certain neurons involved in motor coordination and memory. Defects in JPH3 are the cause of Huntington disease-like type 2 (HDL2). Huntington disease (HD) is a neurodegenerative disorder resulting primarily from the loss of medium spiny projection neurons in the striatum, especially in the caudate nucleus, and, to a lesser extent, atrophy of mesencephalic and cortical structures. The typical clinical picture of HD combines familial adult onset chorea and subcortical dementia that usually begin during the fourth decade of life. Belongs to the junctophilin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Endoplasmic reticulum; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16q24.3

Cellular Component: junctional membrane complex; integral to membrane; plasma membrane

Product Notes

The JPH3 jph3 (Catalog #AAA9631066) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The JPH3 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's JPH3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA)(peptide). ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the JPH3 jph3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "JPH3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
