Concentration
1mg/ml (varies by lot)
Applicable Applications for anti-SPPL2A antibody
ELISA (EIA)(peptide)
Application Notes
ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000
Immunogen
A synthesized peptide derived from human SPPL2A.
Conjugation
Unconjugated
Similarity
The PAL motif is required for normal active site conformation. The catalytic domains embedded in the membrane are in the opposite orientation to that of the presenilin protein family; therefore, it is predicted to cleave type II-oriented substrate peptides like the prototypic protease SPP. The C-terminal tail is necessary for lysosomal transport. Belongs to the peptidase A22B family.
Post Translational Modifications
Glycosylated.
Subunit Structure
Interacts with ITM2B.
Tissue Specificity
Ubiquitous.
Function
Intramembrane-cleaving aspartic protease (I-CLiP) that cleaves type II membrane signal peptides in the hydrophobic plane of the membrane. Functions in FASLG, ITM2B and TNF processing. Catalyzes the intramembrane cleavage of the anchored fragment of shed TNF-alpha (TNF), which promotes the release of the intracellular domain (ICD) for signaling to the nucleus. Also responsible for the intramembrane cleavage of Fas antigen ligand FASLG, which promotes the release of the intracellular FasL domain (FasL ICD). May play a role in the regulation of innate and adaptive immunity. Catalyzes the intramembrane cleavage of the simian foamy virus envelope glycoprotein gp130 independently of prior ectodomain shedding by furin or furin-like proprotein convertase (PC)-mediated cleavage proteolysis.
Note
Colocalizes with palmitoylated and myristoylated proteins at the plasma membrane.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months from date of receipt.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the signal peptide peptidase-like protease (SPPL) family and encodes an endosomal membrane protein with a protease associated (PA) domain. This protein plays a role in innate and adaptive immunity. A pseudogene of this gene also lies on chromosome 15. [provided by RefSeq]

Product Notes

The SPPL2A sppl2a (Catalog #AAA9630886) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SPPL2A Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SPPL2A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA)(peptide). ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SPPL2A sppl2a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SPPL2A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
