Host
Rabbit
Reactivity
Human
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
Rabbit IgG
Specificity
Anillin Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Anillin.
Tissue Specificity: Ubiquitously expressed. Present at highest levels in the brain, at high levels in the placenta and testis, at intermediate levels in the intestine, ovary, skeletal muscle and thymus and at lower levels in heart, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, prostate and spleen. In the kidney, it is widely expressed in tubules, but sparsely expressed in the glomerulus. Expression is significantly increased in renal biopsy specimens from idiopathic FSGS. Overexpressed in many tumor types including breast, colorectal, endometrial, hepatic, kidney, lung, ovarian and pancreatic tumors.
Purity/Purification
The antiserum was purified by peptide affinity chromatography using SulfoLink Coupling Resin
Form/Format
Liquid. Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline, pH7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Concentration
1mg/ml (varies by lot)
Applicable Applications for anti-ANLN antibody
Peptide ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes
Peptide ELISA: 1:20,000-1:40,000
Immunogen
A synthesized peptide derived from human Anillin.
Conjugation
Unconjugated
Fragment
Fab fragment
Post Translational Modifications
Phosphorylated during mitosis.Ubiquitinated, and this requires FZR1/CDH1.
Subunit Structure
Interacts with F-actin. Interacts with CD2AP. May interact with RHOA. Interacts with FZR1/CDH1 during mitotic exit.
Subcellular Location
Nucleus. Cytoplasm>Cytoskeleton. Cytoplasm>Cell cortex. Cell projection>Bleb.
Note: Mainly found in the nucleus during interphase. Colocalizes with cortical F-actin upon nuclear envelope breakdown in mitosis and subsequently concentrates in the area of the prospective contractile ring in anaphase. This pattern persists until telophase, when the protein becomes concentrated in the midbody.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months from date of receipt.
Related Product Information for anti-ANLN antibody
Required for cytokinesis. Essential for the structural integrity of the cleavage furrow and for completion of cleavage furrow ingression. Plays a role in bleb assembly during metaphase and anaphase of mitosis. May play a significant role in podocyte cell migration.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an actin-binding protein that plays a role in cell growth and migration, and in cytokinesis. The encoded protein is thought to regulate actin cytoskeletal dynamics in podocytes, components of the glomerulus. Mutations in this gene are associated with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis 8. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2014]

Uniprot Description

anillin: an actin binding protein that interacts with cleavage furrow proteins such as septins and may play a role in cytokinesis.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Actin-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p15-p14

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; contractile ring; actin cytoskeleton

Molecular Function: actin binding

Biological Process: mitosis; cytokinesis after mitosis; septin ring assembly; regulation of exit from mitosis; hemopoietic progenitor cell differentiation

Disease: Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis 8

Product Notes

The ANLN anln (Catalog #AAA9613555) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anillin Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Anillin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA). Peptide ELISA: 1:20,000-1:40,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ANLN anln for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Anillin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
