Related Product Information for anti-RHO antibody
Function: Photoreceptor required for image-forming vision at low light intensity (PubMed:8107847, PubMed:7846071). Required for photoreceptor cell viability after birth (PubMed:2215617, PubMed:12566452). Light-induced isomerization of the chromophore 11-cis-retinal to all-trans-retinal triggers a conformational change that activates signaling via G-proteins (PubMed:8107847, PubMed:28524165, PubMed:26200343, PubMed:28753425). Subsequent receptor phosphorylation mediates displacement of the bound G-protein alpha subunit by the arrestin SAG and terminates signaling (PubMed:28524165, PubMed:26200343).
Subunit Structure: Homodimer (By similarity). Interacts (phosphorylated form) with SAG (PubMed:28524165, PubMed:26200343, PubMed:28753425). Interacts with GNAT1 (PubMed:26200343). Interacts with GNAT3. SAG and G-proteins compete for a common binding site (By similarity). Interacts with GRK1 (PubMed:28524165).
Post-translational Modifications: Phosphorylated on some or all of the serine and threonine residues present in the C-terminal region (By similarity). After activation by light, phosphorylated by GRK1 (in vitro) (PubMed:28524165). Contains one covalently linked retinal chromophore. Upon light absorption, the covalently bound 11-cis-retinal is converted to all-trans-retinal. After hydrolysis of the Schiff base and release of the covalently bound all-trans-retinal, active rhodopsin is regenerated by binding of a fresh molecule of 11-cis-retinal(PubMed:12566452).
Similarity: Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. Opsin subfamily.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is found in rod cells in the back of the eye and is essential for vision in low-light conditions. The encoded protein binds to 11-cis retinal and is activated when light hits the retinal molecule. Defects in this gene are a cause of congenital stationary night blindness. Uniprot Description

Photoreceptor required for image-forming vision at low light intensity (PubMed:8107847, PubMed:7846071). Required for photoreceptor cell viability after birth (PubMed:2215617, PubMed:12566452). Product Notes

The RHO rho (Catalog #AAA9606498) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RHO Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RHO can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RHO rho for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RHO, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
