Related Product Information for Fcgrt recombinant protein
This gene encodes a receptor that binds the Fc region of monomeric immunoglobulin G. The encoded protein transfers immunoglobulin G antibodies from mother to fetus across the placenta. This protein also binds immunoglobulin G to protect the antibody from degradation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

NCBI Description

binds and transports maternal immunoglobulin gamma from milk; plays a role in providing maternal immunity to neonates [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

Binds to the Fc region of monomeric immunoglobulins gamma (PubMed:18818657, PubMed:7969498). Mediates the selective uptake of IgG from milk and helps newborn animals to acquire passive immunity. IgG in the milk is bound at the apical surface of the intestinal epithelium. The resultant FcRn-IgG complexes are transcytosed across the intestinal epithelium and IgG is released from FcRn into blood or tissue fluids (PubMed:7298722, PubMed:18818657). Possible role in transfer of immunoglobulin G from mother to fetus ().

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IgG receptor FcRn large subunit p51 (Fcgrt), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
