Related Product Information for anti-ATPIF1 antibody
ATPase inhibitor, mitochondrial is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ATPIF1gene. This gene encodes a mitochondrial ATPase inhibitor. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and three transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. It prevents ATPase from switching to ATP hydrolysis during collapse of the electrochemical gradient, for example during oxygen deprivation ATP synthase inhibitor forms a one to one complex with the F1 ATPase, possibly by binding at the alpha-beta interface. It is thought to inhibit ATP synthesis by preventing the release of ATP. The inhibitor has two oligomeric states, dimer (the active state) and tetramer.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a mitochondrial ATPase inhibitor. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and three transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ATPIF1: Endogenous F(1)F(o)-ATPase inhibitor limiting ATP depletion when the mitochondrial membrane potential falls below a threshold and the F(1)F(o)-ATP synthase starts hydrolyzing ATP to pump protons out of the mitochondrial matrix. Homodimer at a pH value below 6.5, inactive homotetramer above. Belongs to the ATPase inhibitor family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Inhibitor; Mitochondrial

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p35.3

Cellular Component: cell surface; mitochondrion; mitochondrial proton-transporting ATP synthase complex

Molecular Function: calmodulin binding; enzyme inhibitor activity; angiostatin binding; protein homodimerization activity; ATPase inhibitor activity; ATPase binding

Biological Process: generation of precursor metabolites and energy; regulation of gene expression; negative regulation of hydrolase activity; negative regulation of endothelial cell proliferation; erythrocyte differentiation; mitochondrial depolarization; angiogenesis; negative regulation of nucleotide metabolic process; protein homooligomerization; heme biosynthetic process; protein homotetramerization

The ATPIF1 atpif1 (Catalog #AAA9446449) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ATPIF1 Conjugated Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ATPIF1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Most Applications. Suggested Dilution: AF350 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF405 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF488 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF555 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF594 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF647 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF680 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 AF750 conjugated: most applications: 1:50-1:250 Biotin conjugated: working with enzyme-conjugated streptavidin, most applications: 1:50-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATPIF1 atpif1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATPIF1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
