NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Potassium channels play a role in many cellular processes including maintenance of the action potential, muscle contraction, hormone secretion, osmotic regulation, and ion flow. This gene encodes one of the members of the superfamily of potassium channel proteins containing two pore-forming P domains. The encoded protein homodimerizes and functions as an outwardly rectifying channel. It is expressed primarily in neural tissues and is stimulated by membrane stretch and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Uniprot Description
KCNK4: Voltage insensitive, instantaneous, outwardly rectifying potassium channel. Outward rectification is reversed at high external K(+) concentrations. Belongs to the two pore domain potassium channel (TC 1.A.1.8) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q13
Cellular Component: plasma membrane; integral to membrane
Molecular Function: potassium channel activity; voltage-gated ion channel activity
Biological Process: synaptic transmission; potassium ion transport

Product Notes
The K2P4.1 kcnk4 (Catalog #AAA9435403) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The K2P4.1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's K2P4.1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB: 1:500 IHC: 1:50-1:200 FC/FACS: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the K2P4.1 kcnk4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "K2P4.1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
