Uniprot Description

Single-stranded DNA-binding protein that eliminates secondary structure in long ssDNA formed on the lagging strand of the replication fork. Stimulates DNA polymerase activity and increases the efficiency of RNA primer synthesis by interacting with the DNA polymerase and the helicase/primase protein gp4. Disrupts loops, hairpins and other secondary structures present on ssDNA to reduce and eliminate pausing of viral DNA polymerase at specific sites during elongation.

The Recombinant Enterobacteria phage T7 Helix-destabilizing protein reacts with BPT7 and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "T7 Helix-destabilizing, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening.
