Related Product Information for anti-INPP5B antibody
Cellular calcium signaling is controlled by the production of inositol phosphates (IPs) by phospholipase C in response to extracellular signals. The IP signaling molecules are inactivated by a family of inositol polyphosphate-5-phosphatases (5-phosphatases). This gene encodes the type II 5-phosphatase. The protein is localized to the cytosol and mitochondria, and associates with membranes through an isoprenyl modification near the C-terminus. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq]

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of a family of inositol polyphosphate-5-phosphatases. These enzymes function in the regulation of calcium signaling by inactivating inositol phosphates. The encoded protein is localized to the cytosol and mitochondria, and associates with membranes through an isoprenyl modification near the C-terminus. Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

Uniprot Description

INPP5B: Hydrolyzes phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PtIns(4,5)P2) and the signaling molecule phosphatidylinositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (PtIns(1,4,5)P3), and thereby modulates cellular signaling events. Belongs to the inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate 5- phosphatase type II family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Carbohydrate Metabolism - inositol phosphate; EC 3.1.3.36; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Phosphatase (non-protein)

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p34

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; phagocytic vesicle membrane; membrane; early endosome membrane; cytoplasm; ER-Golgi intermediate compartment; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; metal ion binding; phosphoinositide 5-phosphatase activity

Biological Process: regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction; sperm motility; inositol phosphate metabolic process; in utero embryonic development; small GTPase mediated signal transduction; phosphoinositide dephosphorylation; spermatogenesis

Product Notes

The INPP5B inpp5b (Catalog #AAA9410371) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Type II 5-phosphatase antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Type II 5-phosphatase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Western blotting: 1:500-1:3000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:250. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the INPP5B inpp5b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Type II 5-phosphatase, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
