NCBI Description

CAPZA1 is a member of the F-actin capping protein alpha subunit family. This gene encodes the alpha subunit of the barbed-end actin binding protein. The protein regulates growth of the actin filament by capping the barbed end of growing actin filaments. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CAPZA1: F-actin-capping proteins bind in a Ca(2+)-independent manner to the fast growing ends of actin filaments (barbed end) thereby blocking the exchange of subunits at these ends. Unlike other capping proteins (such as gelsolin and severin), these proteins do not sever actin filaments. Belongs to the F-actin-capping protein alpha subunit family.

Product Notes

The Human CAPZA1 capza1 (Catalog #AAA9310782) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9310782 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CAPZA1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "capping protein (actin filament) muscle Z-line, alpha 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
