CLIP1 blocking peptide

CLIP1 Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
CLIP1; RSN; CLIP; CYLN1; CLIP170; CLIP-170
Synonyms
CLIP1; CLIP1 Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide; CAP-Gly domain-containing linker protein 1; Cytoplasmic linker protein 1; Cytoplasmic linker protein 170 alpha-2; CLIP-170; Reed-Sternberg intermediate filament-associated protein; Restin; CYLN1; RSN; CLIP1 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of human CLIP1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
1438
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Cytoplasmic vesicle membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Cell projection, ruffle. Note: Associated with the cytoskeleton. Detected at the plus ends of microtubules in the cytosol, and close to plasma membrane ruffles. Associates with the membranes of intermediate macropinocytic vesicles
Tissue Location
Detected in dendritic cells (at protein level). Highly expressed in the Reed-Sternberg cells of Hodgkin disease.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for CLIP1 blocking peptide
Binds to the plus end of microtubules and regulates the dynamics of the microtubule cytoskeleton. Promotes microtubule growth and microtubule bundling. Links cytoplasmic vesicles to microtubules and thereby plays an important role in intracellular vesicle trafficking. Plays a role macropinocytosis and endosome trafficking.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene links endocytic vesicles to microtubules. This gene is highly expressed in Reed-Sternberg cells of Hodgkin disease. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

Uniprot Description

Restin: Binds to the plus end of microtubules and regulates the dynamics of the microtubule cytoskeleton. Promotes microtubule growth and microtubule bundling. Links cytoplasmic vesicles to microtubules and thereby plays an important role in intracellular vesicle trafficking. Plays a role macropinocytosis and endosome trafficking. Interacts with MTOR; phosphorylates and regulates CLIP1. Interacts (via CAP-Gly domains) with tubulin. Interacts with SLAIN2. Interacts (via zinc finger) with DCTN1. Interacts with MAPRE1 and MAPRE3. Detected in dendritic cells. Highly expressed in the Reed-Sternberg cells of Hodgkin disease. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The CLIP1 clip1 (Catalog #AAA9227941) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CLIP1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
