Synonyms
RBM14; RBM14 Antibody (Center) Blocking Peptide; RNA-binding protein 14; Paraspeckle protein 2; PSP2; RNA-binding motif protein 14; RRM-containing coactivator activator/modulator; Synaptotagmin-interacting protein; SYT-interacting protein; SIP; RBM14 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the Center region of human RBM14. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
669
Cellular Location
Nucleus. Nucleus, nucleolus. Note: In punctate subnuclear structures often located adjacent to splicing speckles, called paraspeckles
Tissue Location
Expressed in all tissues tested, including brain, heart, skeletal muscle, colon, thymus, spleen, kidney, liver, small intestine, placenta, lung and peripheral blood lymphocytes
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.

NCBI Description

This locus represents naturally occurring read-through transcription between the neighboring RBM14 (RNA binding motif protein 14) and RBM4 (RNA binding motif protein 4) genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, one of which encodes a fusion protein that shares sequence identity with each individual gene product. This fusion protein contains RRM and zinc finger domains, and it functions to stimulate transcription in a hormone and receptor-dependent manner. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]

Uniprot Description

RBM14: an RNA binding protein and transcriptional regulator. Expressed in all tissues tested, including brain, heart, skeletal muscle, colon, thymus, spleen, kidney, liver, small intestine, placenta, lung and peripheral blood lymphocytes. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been observed. Isoform 1 may function as a nuclear receptor coactivator, enhancing transcription through other coactivators such as NCOA6 and CITED1. Isoform 2, functions as a transcriptional repressor, modulating transcriptional activities of coactivators including isoform 1, NCOA6 and CITED1.

Protein type: Nuclear receptor co-regulator; RNA-binding; Nucleolus

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q13.2

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; ribonucleoprotein complex; transcription factor complex

Molecular Function: ligand-dependent nuclear receptor transcription coactivator activity; protein binding

Biological Process: histone deacetylation; negative regulation of centriole replication; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; response to hormone stimulus

Product Notes

The RBM14 rbm14 (Catalog #AAA9224973) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RBM14, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
