ANKS1B blocking peptide

ANKS1B Antibody (Center) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
ANKS1B; EB1; AIDA; EB-1; ANKS2; AIDA-1; cajalin-2
Synonyms
ANKS1B; ANKS1B Antibody (Center) Blocking peptide; Ankyrin repeat and sterile alpha motif domain-containing protein 1B; Amyloid-beta protein intracellular domain-associated protein 1; AIDA-1; E2A-PBX1-associated protein; EB-1; ANKS1B blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the Center region of ANKS1B. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
1248
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm Isoform 3: Cell junction, synapse, postsynaptic cell membrane, postsynaptic density. Cell projection, dendritic spine. Nucleus. Nucleus, Cajal body. Note: The synaptic localization requires DLG4 interaction. Translocation to the nucleus in response to stimulation of NMDA receptors (NMDARs) in a calcium-independent manner (By similarity). Isoform 6: Nucleus.
Tissue Location
Highly expressed in marrow from patients with pre-B ALL associated with the t(1;19) translocation. Strongly expressed in brain and testis. Expressed in fetal brain. Isoform 4 is highly expressed in brain (at protein level). Isoform 6 is expressed in brain and several cancer cell lines
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for ANKS1B blocking peptide
Isoform 2 may participate in the regulation of nucleoplasmic coilin protein interactions in neuronal and transformed cells. Isoform 4 may play a role as a modulator of APP processing. Overexpression can down-regulate APP processing.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a multi-domain protein that is predominantly expressed in brain and testis. This protein interacts with amyloid beta protein precursor (AbetaPP) and may have a role in normal brain development, and in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. Expression of this gene has been shown to be elevated in patients with pre-B cell acute lymphocytic leukemia associated with t(1;19) translocation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms (some with different subcellular localization, PMID:15004329) have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Uniprot Description

AIDA-1b: Isoform 2 may participate in the regulation of nucleoplasmic coilin protein interactions in neuronal and transformed cells. 8 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q23.1

Molecular Function: ephrin receptor binding

Product Notes

The ANKS1B anks1b (Catalog #AAA9219906) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ANKS1B, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
