DUOXA2 blocking peptide

DUOXA2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
DUOXA2; TDH5; SIMNIPHOM
Synonyms
DUOXA2; DUOXA2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide; Dual oxidase maturation factor 2; Dual oxidase activator 2; DUOXA2 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of DUOXA2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
320
Cellular Location
Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein
Tissue Location
Specifically expressed in thyroid. Also detected in salivary glands.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for DUOXA2 blocking peptide
Required for the maturation and the transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the plasma membrane of functional DUOX2. May play a role in thyroid hormone synthesis.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an endoplasmic reticulum protein that is necessary for proper cellular localization and maturation of functional dual oxidase 2. Mutations in this gene have been associated with thyroid dyshormonogenesis 5.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]

Uniprot Description

DUOXA2: Required for the maturation and the transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the plasma membrane of functional DUOX2. May play a role in thyroid hormone synthesis. Defects in DUOXA2 are the cause of thyroid dyshormonogenesis 5 (TDH5). A disorder due to thyroid dyshormonogenesis, causing hypothyroidism, goiter, and variable mental deficits derived from unrecognized and untreated hypothyroidism. Belongs to the DUOXA family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q15.1

Cellular Component: membrane

Disease: Thyroid Dyshormonogenesis 5

Product Notes

The DUOXA2 duoxa2 (Catalog #AAA9219896) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DUOXA2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
