PMAT (Slc29a4) Blocking Peptide | Slc29a4 blocking peptide

PMAT(Slc29a4) Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
Slc29a4; ENT4; mPMAT
Synonyms
PMAT (Slc29a4); PMAT(Slc29a4) Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide; Equilibrative nucleoside transporter 4; Solute carrier family 29 member 4; Slc29a4; Ent4; Slc29a4 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the Slc29a4 region of human PMAT(Slc29a4). A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
528
Cellular Location
Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Apical cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein Note: Located to the plasma membranes of ventricular myocytes and vascular endothelial cells. Targeted to the apical membranes of differentiated kidney epithelial cells (By similarity)
Tissue Location
Expressed in heart.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for Slc29a4 blocking peptide
Functions as a polyspecific organic cation transporter, efficiently transporting many organic cations such as monoamine neurotransmitters 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium and biogenic amines including serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine. May play a role in regulating central nervous system homeostasis of monoamine neurotransmitters. May be involved in luminal transport of organic cations in the kidney and seems to use luminal proton gradient to drive organic cation reabsorptprev reabsorption. Does not seem to transport nucleoside and nucleoside analogs such as uridine, cytidine, thymidine, adenosine, inosine, guanosine, and azidothymidine. In (PubMed:16873718) adenosine is efficiently transported but in a fashion highly sensitive to extracellular pH, with maximal activity in the pH range 5.5 to 6.5. Glu-206 is essential for the cation selectivity and may function as the charge sensor for cationic substrates. Transport is chloride and sodium-independent but appears to be sensitive to changes in membrane potential. Weakly inhibited by the classical inhibitors of equilibrative nucleoside transport, dipyridamole, dilazep, and nitrobenzylthioinosine. May play a role in the regulation of extracellular adenosine concentrations in cardiac tissues, in particular during ischemia (By similarity).

Product Notes

The Slc29a4 slc29a4 (Catalog #AAA9217953) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PMAT (Slc29a4), Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
