Rabbit GALNT4 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-GALNT4 antibody
GALNT4 Antibody (N-term)
Western Blot (WB)
(GALNT4 Antibody (N-term) western blot analysis in Hela cell line lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the GALNT4 antibody detected the GALNT4 protein (arrow).)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
(GALNT4 Antibody (N-term) flow cytometric analysis of Hela cells (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram).FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.)
UDP-N-acetyl-alpha-D-galactosamine:polypeptide
N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase (GalNAc-T) family of enzymes.
GalNAc-Ts initiate mucin-type O-linked glycosylation in the Golgi
apparatus by catalyzing the transfer of GalNAc to serine and
threonine residues on target proteins. They are characterized by an
N-terminal transmembrane domain, a stem region, a lumenal catalytic
domain containing a GT1 motif and Gal/GalNAc transferase motif, and
a C-terminal ricin/lectin-like domain. GalNAc-Ts have different,
but overlapping, substrate specificities and patterns of
expression. In vitro, the encoded protein can complement other
GalNAc-Ts in the complete O-glycosylation of the mucin-1 tandem
repeat and can O-glycosylate the P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1
molecule. The coding region of this gene is contained within a
single exon.

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This locus represents naturally occurring transcripts that splice the 5' exons of the POC1B (POC1 centriolar protein homolog B) gene on chromosome 12 to the GALNT4 (UDP-N-acetyl-alpha-D-galactosamine:polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 4) gene, which is located within a POC1B intron. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants, one of which encodes a fusion isoform that shares sequence identity with the products of each individual gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

Product Notes
The GALNT4 galnt4 (Catalog #AAA9214580) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 93-120. The GALNT4 Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Mouse) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GALNT4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GALNT4 galnt4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GALNT4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
