Related Product Information for anti-TUBA4A antibody
Microtubules of the eukaryotic cytoskeleton perform
essential and diverse functions and are composed of a heterodimer
of alpha and beta tubulin. The genes encoding these microtubule
constituents are part of the tubulin superfamily, which is composed
of six distinct families. Genes from the alpha, beta and gamma
tubulin families are found in all eukaryotes. The alpha and beta
tubulins represent the major components of microtubules, while
gamma tubulin plays a critical role in the nucleation of
microtubule assembly. There are multiple alpha and beta tubulin
genes and they are highly conserved among and between species. This
gene encodes an alpha tubulin that is a highly conserved homolog of
a rat testis-specific alpha tubulin.

This gene encodes an alpha tubulin that is a highly conserved homolog of a rat testis-specific alpha tubulin. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]

Uniprot Description

TUBA4A: Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain. Dimer of alpha and beta chains. Belongs to the tubulin family.

Product Notes

The TUBA4A tuba4a (Catalog #AAA9212231) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 417-446. The TUBA4A Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Bovine, Monkey, Mouse, Rat) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TUBA4A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TUBA4A tuba4a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TUBA4A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
