Rabbit GLS Polyclonal Antibody | anti-GLS antibody
GLS Antibody (C-term)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of lysates from human brain tissue and Hela cell line (from left to right), using GLS Antibody (C-term). MBS9202061 was diluted at 1:1000 at each lane. A goat anti-rabbit IgG H&L(HRP) at 1:10000 dilution was used as the secondary antibody. Lysates at 20ug per lane.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded H.kidney section using GLS Antibody (C-term). MBS9202061 was diluted at 1:25 dilution. A peroxidase-conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG at 1:400 dilution was used as the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining.)
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Fluorescent image of Hela cells stained with XAF1 GLS Antibody (C-term). MBS9202061 was diluted at 1:25 dilution. An Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit lgG at 1:400 dilution was used as the secondary antibody (green). DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclear (blue). Cytoplasmic actin was counterstained with Alexa Fluor 555 conjugated with Phalloidin (red).)

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes the K-type mitochondrial glutaminase. The encoded protein is an phosphate-activated amidohydrolase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of glutamine to glutamate and ammonia. This protein is primarily expressed in the brain and kidney plays an essential role in generating energy for metabolism, synthesizing the brain neurotransmitter glutamate and maintaining acid-base balance in the kidney. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]
Uniprot Description
glutaminase: Catalyzes the first reaction in the primary pathway for the renal catabolism of glutamine. Plays a role in maintaining acid-base homeostasis. Regulates the levels of the neurotransmitter glutamate in the brain. Isoform 2 lacks catalytic activity. Belongs to the glutaminase family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Amino Acid Metabolism - alanine, aspartate and glutamate; Energy Metabolism - nitrogen; EC 3.5.1.2; Other Amino Acids Metabolism - D-Glutamine and D-glutamate; Mitochondrial; Amino Acid Metabolism - arginine and proline; Hydrolase
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q32-q34
Cellular Component: mitochondrion; mitochondrial matrix; cytosol

Product Notes
The GLS gls (Catalog #AAA9202061) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 516-545. The GLS Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human, mouse (Predicted Reactivity: Rat) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GLS can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GLS gls for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GLS, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
