Reactivity
Human
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human TMEM27. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human TMEM27 and analogues was observed.
Sequence Length
222
Samples
Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, Cell lysates
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
60 pg/ml -800 pg/ml.
Sensitivity
The minimum detectable dose of human TMEM27 is typically less than 20 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest human TMEM27 concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
Preparation and Storage
Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.

Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for TMEM27 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody specific for TMEM27. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TMEM27 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a type 1 transmembrane protein that is important for trafficking amino acid transporters to the apical brush border of proximal tubules. The encoded protein binds to amino acid transporters and regulates their expression on the plasma membrane. It also plays a role in controlling insulin exocytosis by regulating formation of the SNARE (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive-factor attachment protein receptor) complex in pancreatic beta cells. The extracellular domain of the encoded protein may be cleaved and shed from the plasma membrane specifically in pancreatic beta cells. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]

Uniprot Description

TMEM27: Regulator of SNARE complex function. Stimulator of beta cell replication. Belongs to the TMEM27 family.

Protein type: Cell surface; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xp22

Cellular Component: brush border membrane; cytoplasm; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: peptidyl-dipeptidase activity; protein binding; metallopeptidase activity

Biological Process: positive regulation of calcium ion-dependent exocytosis; proteolysis; positive regulation of amino acid transport

Product Notes

The Human TMEM27 tmem27 (Catalog #AAA909222) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA909222 ELISA Kit recognizes Human TMEM27. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "transmembrane protein 27, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
