Directions for Use
Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 mug/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 1X PBS. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized protein should be stored at -20 degree C, though stable at room temperature for 3 weeks. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 2-8 degree C for 2-7 days. Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at -20 degree C for 3 months.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a membrane protein that acts as a ligand for Eph family receptors. Signalling occurs bidirectionally in both the cell containing the receptor and the cell expressing this protein. Activity of this protein is important in neuronal axon growth and other developmental processes. [provided by RefSeq, May 2015]

Uniprot Description

EFNB1: a type I membrane protein of the ephrin family. A ligand of Eph-related receptor tyrosine kinases EphB1 and EphA1. Ephrins and ephrin receptors mediate numerous developmental processes, particularly in the nervous system. Ephrin-B1 may play a role in cell adhesion and functions in the development or maintenance of the nervous system. Binding to its receptor induces the collapse of commissural axons/growth cones in vitro. Induced by TNF-alpha. Expressed in brain, heart, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, and pancreas.

Protein type: Ligand, receptor tyrosine kinase; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; lipid raft; nucleus; plasma membrane; synapse

Molecular Function: ephrin receptor binding; protein binding

Biological Process: axon guidance; embryonic pattern specification; ephrin receptor signaling pathway; nervous system development; neural crest cell migration; positive regulation of T cell proliferation; T cell costimulation

Product Notes

The EFNB1 efnb1 (Catalog #AAA8248960) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Recombinant Mouse EFNB1 Protein reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's EFNB1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA),Western Blot (WB), SDS-PAGE, Mass Spectrometry (MS). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EFNB1 efnb1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: KNLEPVSWSS LNPKFLSGKG LVIYPKIGDK LDIICPRAEA GRPYEYYKLY LVRPEQAAAC STVLDPNVLV TCNKPHQEIR FTIKFQEFSP NYMGLEFKKY HDYYITSTSN GSLEGLENRE GGVCRTRTMK IVMKVGQDPN AVTPEQLTTS RPSKESDNTV KTATQAPGRG SQGDSDGKHE TVNQEEKSGP GAGGGGSGDS VDDIEGRMDE PKSCDKTHTC PPCPAPELLG GPSVFLFPPK PKDTLMISRT PEVTCVVVDV SHEDPEVKFN WYVDGVEVHN AKTKPREEQY NSTYRVVSVL TVLHQDWLNG KEYKCKVSNK ALPAPIEKTI SKAKGQPREP QVYTLPPSRE EMTKNQVSLT CLVKGFYPSD IAVEWESNGQ PENNYKTTPP VLDSDGSFFL YSKLTVDKSR WQQGNVFSCS VMHEALHNHY TQKSLSLSPG KHHHHHH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EFNB1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
