NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the SNF subfamily of helicase proteins. The encoded protein plays a critical role in the restoration of heterochromatin organization and propagation of epigenetic patterns following DNA replication by mediating histone H3/H4 deacetylation. Mutations in this gene are associated with adermatoglyphia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]

Uniprot Description

SMARCAD1: an ubiquitous enzyme with ATP-dependent DNA helicase activity. Belongs to the SNF2/RAD54 helicase family. Two alternatively spliced human isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold; EC 3.6.4.12; Helicase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q22.3

Cellular Component: heterochromatin; nuclear replication fork; nucleoplasm

Molecular Function: DNA binding; protein binding

Biological Process: ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling; chromosome separation; DNA double-strand break processing; regulation of DNA recombination

Disease: Adermatoglyphia

Product Notes

The SMARCAD1 smarcad1 (Catalog #AAA8247661) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-SMARCAD1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SMARCAD1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Western Blot: 1/500 - 1/2000, Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry: 1/50 - 1/100, Immunoprecipitation: 1/50 - 1/100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SMARCAD1 smarcad1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SMARCAD1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
