NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the basic helix-loop-helix (BHLH) family of transcription factors. The protein activates transcription by binding to the E box (5'-CANNTG-3'). Dimerization with other BHLH proteins is required for efficient DNA binding. This protein plays a role in the neuronal commitment and differentiation and in the generation of olfactory and autonomic neurons. Mutations in this gene may contribute to the congenital central hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS) phenotype in rare cases. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ASCL1: Transcriptional regulator. May play a role at early stages of development of specific neural lineages in most regions of the CNS, and of several lineages in the PNS. Essential for the generation of olfactory and autonomic neurons. Involved in the initiation of neuronal differentiation. Mediates transcription activation by binding to the E box (5'-CANNTG-3').

Product Notes

The ASCL1 ascl1 (Catalog #AAA8229905) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-MASH1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Chicken, Zebrafish and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MASH1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB (1/500 - 1/1000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ASCL1 ascl1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MASH1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
