Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of PFDN1 staining in human prostate cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the prefoldin beta subunit family. The encoded protein is one of six subunits of prefoldin, a molecular chaperone complex that binds and stabilizes newly synthesized polypeptides, thereby allowing them to fold correctly. The complex, consisting of two alpha and four beta subunits, forms a double beta barrel assembly with six protruding coiled-coils. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PFDN1: Binds specifically to cytosolic chaperonin (c-CPN) and transfers target proteins to it. Binds to nascent polypeptide chain and promotes folding in an environment in which there are many competing pathways for nonnative proteins. Belongs to the prefoldin subunit beta family.

Protein type: Chaperone

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q31

Cellular Component: prefoldin complex

Molecular Function: unfolded protein binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: 'de novo' posttranslational protein folding; telencephalon development; cellular protein metabolic process; B cell activation; protein folding; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; cerebellum development; cell cycle; actin cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis

Product Notes

The PFDN1 pfdn1 (Catalog #AAA8226790) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PFDN1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Bovine, Dog, Porcine, Rabbit and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PFDN1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB (1/500 - 1/1000), IHC (1/100 - 1/200). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PFDN1 pfdn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PFDN1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
