Background: Malate dehydrogenases 1(MDH1/MDHA) is a soluble form of malate dehydrogenases. Malate dehydrogenases (MDH) is a group of multimeric enzymes consisting of identical subunits usually organized as either dimer or tetramers with subunit molecular weights of 30-35kDa. MDH has been isolated from different sources including archaea, eubacteria, fungi, plants, and mammals. MDH catalyzes the NAD/NADH-dependent interconversion of the substrates malate and oxaloacetate. This reaction plays a key part in the malate/aspartate shuttle across the mitochondrial membrane, and in the tricarboxylic acid cycle within the mitochondrial matrix. The enzymes share a common catalytic mechanism and their kinetic properties are similar, which demonstrates a high degree of structural similarity. The three-dimensional structures and elements essential for catalysis are conserved between mitochondrial and cytoplasmic forms of MDH in eukaryotic cells even though these isoenzymes are only marginally related at the level of the primary structure.

Product Notes

The MDH1 (Catalog #AAA8119128) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-MDH1 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MDH1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IP: 1-5uL/mg of lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MDH1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MDH1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
