Human Acyl-CoA desaturase (delta-9-desaturase) ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes an enzyme involved in fatty acid biosynthesis, primarily the synthesis of oleic acid. The protein belongs to the fatty acid desaturase family and is an integral membrane protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum. Transcripts of approximately 3.9 and 5.2 kb, differing only by alternative polyadenlyation signals, have been detected. A gene encoding a similar enzyme is located on chromosome 4 and a pseudogene of this gene is located on chromosome 17. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
Uniprot Description
SCD: Terminal component of the liver microsomal stearyl-CoA desaturase system, that utilizes O(2) and electrons from reduced cytochrome b5 to catalyze the insertion of a double bond into a spectrum of fatty acyl-CoA substrates including palmitoyl-CoA and stearoyl-CoA. Belongs to the fatty acid desaturase family.

Product Notes
The Human SCD scd (Catalog #AAA7606498) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7606498 ELISA Kit recognizes Human SCD. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Acyl-CoA desaturase (delta-9-desaturase), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
