NCBI Description

This gene encodes an enzyme that converts lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) into phosphatidic acid (PA). LPA and PA are two phospholipids involved in signal transduction and in lipid biosynthesis in cells. This enzyme localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum. This gene is located in the class III region of the human major histocompatibility complex. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

AGPAT1: Converts lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) into phosphatidic acid by incorporating an acyl moiety at the sn-2 position of the glycerol backbone. Belongs to the 1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase family.

Product Notes

The Canine AGPAT1 agpat1 (Catalog #AAA7222106) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7222106 ELISA Kit recognizes Canine AGPAT1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase alpha (AGPAT1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
