NCBI Description

This gene is one of several chemokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Chemokines form a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of the N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine, a member of the CC subfamily, is secreted by activated T cells and displays chemotactic activity for monocytes but not for neutrophils. It binds to the chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 8. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

Uniprot Description

Function: Cytokine that is chemotactic for monocytes but not for neutrophils. Binds to CCR8. Ref.7

Subunit structure: Monomer.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Induction: By phorbol myristate acetate (PMA).

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Product Notes

The I-309 (CCL1) ccl1 (Catalog #AAA692146) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Human I-309 (CCL1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: SKSMQVPFSR CCFSFAEQEI PLRAILCYRN TSSICSNEGL IFKLKR GKEA CALDTVGWVQ RHRKMLRHCP SKRK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "I-309 (CCL1), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
