Related Product Information for FGF-9 active protein
FGF-9 is a heparin binding growth factor that belongs to the FGF family. Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF-9 targets glial cells, astrocytes cells and other cells that express the FGFR 1c, 2c, 3b, 3c, and 4. Recombinant mouse FGF-9 is a 23.3 kDa protein containing 205 amino acid residues.

Uniprot Description

Function: Plays an important role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell differentiation and cell migration. May have a role in glial cell growth and differentiation during development, gliosis during repair and regeneration of brain tissue after damage, differentiation and survival of neuronal cells, and growth stimulation of glial tumors.

Subunit structure: Monomer. Homodimer. Interacts with FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3 and FGFR4. Affinity between fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and their receptors is increased by heparan sulfate glycosaminoglycans that function as coreceptors

By similarity.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family.

Product Notes

The FGF-9 fgf9 (Catalog #AAA691914) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse FGF-9 reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: PLGEVGSYFG VQDAVPFGNV PVLPVDSPVL LNDHLGQSEA GGLPRG PAVT DLDHLKGILR RRQLYCRTGF HLEIFPNGTI QGTRKDHSRF G ILEFISIAV GLVSIRGVDS GLYLGMNEKG ELYGSEKLTQ ECVFREQ FEE NWYNTYSSNL YKHVDTGRRY YVALNKDGTP REGTRTKRHQ KF THFLPRPV DPDKVPELYK DILSQS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FGF-9, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
